About me

My name is Cathy Dickens I am 52yrs old I am a Mother of five children and grandmother of nine grandchildren soon to be ten in my family we put GOD first in everything we do.  like most women my Mother is my hero and Best friend. I am a Advocate for Children as well I invented two toy's for Children with Special Needs. as well  I have written six children's books. I won the seat for District Supervisor for Soil and Water in 2016 in Fayetteville N.C and 3rd Vice-President of the Democrat Women. I am now with the Democrat Women of Alamance County and I am on the Board of a Non-Profit Organization FriendsandAllies were we help everyone and women of Domestic Violence and we help them get back on their feet. I also am getting ready Classes to become a Foster Parent because children needs someone that real cares and love them as well, so as you can see that I would make a Great Addition to The Town Of Haw River. And let me add i am Secretary Treasure of Haw River so as you can see I'm already working in the Community as well Volunteer.

I am running to serve Haw River because I love Haw River since I have been living here. Putting Haw River first means putting the people in our community first, because they are the essence of the community that we love. Putting Haw River first means transcending personal bias and relegating personal interest in favor the greater good. Haw River, First means we help our neighbors because it's the right thing to do. Putting Haw River, First requires that our elected officials and public servants set aside ideological or personal differences to attend to the service of the residents. That is why I am running for Town Council.

In the coming weeks and months, I will continue communicating with thousands of residents to continue to listen to and understand their needs and desires. We will constructively propose and support good solutions to the challenges we face. I  will also engage in the planning process, to ensure that we don't avoid problems before they affect the quality of life of our residents.

This will be a long road to victory, but if we are all engaged we will not lose. Our time is now.

I hope you will remain engaged, and that you will do what it will take for us to win. I will and are going to work hard to earn the vote of every Haw River Resident. We will approach them on the door step, in the mailbox, by electronic means, and every method available. We have a vigorous campaign plan in place, and we have all made a personal commitment of time and money to this cause. I believe I will win the opportunity to serve because I know what  I am capable of. It is my honor to work with all of you to improve and effectively represent our community. I need you to have my back and I promise I will not let you down.
